Printing labels

The print queue, with a label ready to print

Every physical copy of a book has a unique barcode stock code, which you print onto a label and stick to the book itself. Scanning that label is how the app recognizes a specific copy later — when returning it, moving it, or looking it up.

The print queue

The printer icon at the bottom of the left-hand menu opens the print queue. A badge on the icon shows how many labels are currently waiting to be printed.

Adding labels to the queue

You can queue a label for printing in a couple of places:

  • From a book's Stocks table, click the printer icon on any copy's row to add just that label.
  • When adding a new copy, choose Add and print to create it and queue its label in one step.

Printing

Open the print queue and:

  • Click Print to send every queued label to your printer.
  • Click Clear queue to remove everything without printing.

Each label includes the book's name and a scannable barcode of its stock code, ready to be scanned again later with the barcode scanner built into the app — for example when returning a book or adding it to a customer.
