Customers & groups

The Customers page manages the people who can borrow books, and lets you organize them into groups (for example, by class, grade, or department).
Customers tab
The main table lists every customer with their tags, the total number of books currently on loan to them, and which group they belong to (if any).
- Click Add to create a new customer.
- Use the ✏️ icon to edit a customer, or 🗑️ to delete one (with confirmation).
- Click the row's expand arrow to reveal that customer's borrowed books in a table underneath.
Groups tab
Switch to the Groups tab to manage customer groups. Every customer without a group appears under a built-in No group bucket, so nobody is ever hidden.
For each group you can see its name, description, and total number of customers, and:
- Click Add to create a new group.
- Expand a group to see and manage its members.
- ✏️ edit or 🗑️ delete a group (deleting doesn't delete its customers — they just become unassigned).
Moving customers between groups
Within an expanded group, you can move customers in two ways:
- Drag and drop a customer's row onto another group to move them there instantly.
- Select multiple customers with the checkboxes, choose a target group from the Move to group dropdown, and click Move to relocate them all at once.
You can also remove a single customer from a group with the ✕ icon next to their name, which sends them back to No group.
Lending to a customer
To see or manage what a customer currently has on loan, expand their row in the Customers tab. To assign or return copies, see Lending & returns.
